A talented tax professional is sought to join a dynamic Financial Services (FS) Tax practice as a US Tax Manager in the heart of London. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee Compliance Engagements: Manage private equity fund US state tax compliance engagements, considering all relevant risk and tax technical issues.
* Research and Consult: Analyze US state tax legislation and communicate its implications to clients.
* Coach and Develop: Mentor junior team members, both onshore and offshore, to foster a collaborative learning environment.
* Manage Projects: Coordinate multiple engagement teams, effectively balancing schedules and deadlines.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A positive attitude and a strong willingness to be a team player.
* Project management skills and proficiency in US state taxation.
* In-depth knowledge of state tax concepts, including nexus, apportionment, and withholding.
* Experience advising clients on US state tax implications related to employee travel, US investments, and fund structures.
* A passion for coaching and developing others while managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
* A current CPA, EA, or equivalent qualification, or a degree/master's in accounting or taxation.
* Extensive experience preparing and reviewing state partnership and corporation tax returns.
* Proficiency in Go Systems tax preparation software or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience managing large-scale fund compliance projects with cross-border teams.
* The ability to communicate complex US tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
* A background in financial services, particularly with private equity funds.
