EMEA VAT Compliance specialist - fully remote in Ireland

EMEA VAT Compliance specialist - fully remote, can be based anywhere in Ireland.

On behalf of our multinational client, we are looking for a EMEA VAT specialist who will lead the 'Compliance process';

As an overview on the role, you will focus on:

● Review and approve VAT returns prepared by junior team members.
● High level support on VAT audits across key jurisdictions.
● Work with internal stakeholders on a variety indirect tax topics.
● Lead projects on (VAT related) integrations, new entities, automation initiatives for e-invoicing and e-reporting.
● Set up and oversee internal working processes.
● Prepare and review reconciliations.
● Support in the refund process.
● Initiate improvements and automation initiatives.


Your profile should consist of:

● A degree in Accounting, finance, business administration (or similar).
● 5 years + hands on working experience in indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, in particular for major European countries.
● 2 years + experience reviewing VAT returns and managing VAT reporting deadlines.
● Practical working experience of Oracle.
● Ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
● Solution led mindset with the ability to identify 'process improvement'
● Great attention to detail and able to work with accuracy under (deadline) pressure and highly analytical.
● Good level of Excel experience.
