This FTSE 100 business is looking to appoint a skilled Head of Tax to take full responsibility for all tax affairs within the group; this will include direct, indirect, and payroll taxes. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance, optimising tax planning, and advising senior management on tax matters across all areas of the business, both in the UK and internationally.

This position is very hands-on and is ideal for someone eager to step into a tax leadership role. The successful individual will take management responsibility for one other team member.

What will I be doing as a Head of Tax?

Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, the Head of Tax will work closely with HM Revenue and Customs, external auditors, and legal and accounting advisors to manage all tax-related compliance, legislation, and annual returns. In this role, you'll develop and implement tax strategies that minimise our tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with legal requirements. You'll partner with teams across the business to drive tax planning initiatives, identify and manage tax risks, and ensure that systems and processes meet all compliance standards. Staying updated on changes in tax legislation, you will also support ongoing tax planning and strategy. This role includes occasional travel to our UK sites, as well as to France and Ireland.

What do I need to qualify for this Group Tax Manager role?

* ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified with extensive experience in tax management, preferably within a complex organisation or professional services firm.
* In-depth knowledge of UK tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles, with experience managing tax affairs for multiple companies.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations
