Tax Public Policy Director - UK wide with some travel to London

Professional Body seeks a Tax Professional for a Senior Technical role. As the Director of Public Policy is the highest ranked officer concerned solely with tax technical and professional standards (including anti-money laundering (‘AML’)) for this Institution. The purpose of the role is to work with the governance team and a variety of technical committees and professional standards teams to lead on work related to tax policy, external relations, professional standards, and AML and to execute that strategy on their behalf.
It is the most external facing in terms of messaging and communications, to the public, members and other interested parties. It has responsibility for AML and External Relations for the professional body.
This role would suit a tax professional with a sound technical background who understands tax governance, professional standards, AML and who has experience of public speaking. You will engage with Ministers, HMRC/HMT staff, OPBAS and other stakeholders to ensure this professional body and its members voices are heard. You will collaborate with other professional bodies and institutions for the benefit of the tax profession and also for the education of the public about all matters tax related.
You will be a key spokesperson representing this professional body and its members and will report to the CEO.
The role is UK based, can be remote worked with some travel to the Head office in London. The working hours are 35 a week.
