Transactional Finance Team Leader (Rents)

Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with this Housing Association, based in the West Midlands, who are looking for an experienced Transactional Finance Team Leader to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
As the Transactional Finance Team Leader, you will manage a small team who are responsible for all of the rent accounting transactions for the organisation.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

* Ensure the correct reconciliations and calculations are performed and applied accurately and efficiently to the finance system
* Ensure any appropriate rent adjustments and receipts are recorded in a timely and accurate manner
* Liaise with various teams across the business to ensure all funds are allocated correctly
* Allocate rent refunds and payments as required
* Reconcile across finance systems accurately, resolving any accounting errors or systems errors as appropriate
* Ensure controls are in place and monitored for a variety of different transactions, including; direct debits, standing orders, cheques etc
* Promote cost-effective methods of payment
* Develop and manage a small team through continuous professional development and training

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:

* Have proven experience in a transactional finance role, along with an appropriate accounting qualification
* Have the ability to effectively reconcile accounts and understand the impact of transactions on other departments and areas within Finance
* Have the ability to work accurately within tight deadlines
* Have experience in rent accounting or housing (highly desirable)
