This is a really interesting role for a CTA qualified - will consider any level from newly qualified to experienced manager. The focus of the role is advisory work for individuals, families and their businesses. Day to day the role will involve:
*Building relationships and interacting with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise. The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of tax law and will meet with clients to gather information and explain options and their implications to clients in simple terms. The work is detailed and complex, and the successful candidate will need knowledge in areas such as:
- Corporate Tax
- International and Inheritance Tax
- National Insurance
- Personal Tax
- Trusts and Estates
- VAT
The clients include large and small companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals. Typical areas of activity will include:
- Researching, analysing and interpreting changing tax legislation in both the UK and overseas
- Meeting with clients and collating information
- Working with tax law and revenue provisions
- Liaising and negotiating with HMRC on behalf of the client
- Creating tax strategies for clients and planning their financial futures
- Carrying out detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advising on how to minimise a client's liability
- Establishing and structuring family trusts
- Estate planning and advising on tax residence and domicile matters
- Drafting of Wills and Power of Attorney documentation
- Providing guidance on indirect taxation issues such as VAT, customs planning and environmental taxes
- Producing reports and presentations for clients.
Its likely that you will be ATT and CTA qualified and will have experience of advisory work (though your current role may also be compliance focused). Good salary and benefits package and clear scope for promotion. This role is office based, will consider a part time hire.
