Tax Compliance and Reporting Contractor

A senior tax compliance specialist is required for an interesting assignment with a high growth energy business, taking full ownership for compliance and reporting obligations of the group. This will likely be a 6-12 month assignment with the possibility to go permanent.

Key responsibilities:

* Tax Compliance: Accurately and promptly prepare UK tax returns, ensuring full compliance with corporate income tax, VAT, P11Ds, and PSA regulations.
* VAT Management: Prepare VAT returns and manage related reporting and refund processes, including timely submissions, reconciliation, and VAT recovery where applicable.
* Transfer Pricing (TP): Implement effective transfer pricing strategies, mitigate risks, and manage intercompany transactions; collaborate with advisers to prepare the group's TP documentation.
* Tax Reporting: Prepare reports, provisions, and disclosures for financial statements across various tax jurisdictions.
* Tax Audits: Oversee tax audits and inquiries, coordinate responses, and resolve issues with relevant authorities to minimize tax exposure.
* Research and Analysis: Stay updated on tax law and regulation changes, providing insights and recommendations on their organizational impact.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure tax strategies align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate tax records, ensuring all documentation is current and easily accessible.
* Ad hoc Tax Advice: Provide on-demand tax advice as needed
