Senior Manager or Director - SAP VAT Technology

This exciting role is for a Senior Manager or Director specialising in SAP and VAT technology to join our client's fast-growing Indirect Tax Transformation team. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in steering and developing the SAP Tax business, working with significant multinational clients, and engaging with UK and global networks.

The Role

As a pivotal member of the team, the selected candidate will:

* Lead and deliver high-quality SAP projects and VAT technology advice.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service and identifying new business opportunities.
* Oversee and manage successful SAP tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.
* Contribute to business development, supporting the sales process and expanding the network.
* Develop and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Core Skills

* Proven experience in SAP Tax with 3+ end-to-end SAP implementation projects focused on VAT/GST or Sales & Use Tax.
* Expertise in multi-country tax requirements and deployment.
* Strong consulting background with the ability to interact with clients and manage large-scale projects.
* High attention to detail and quality delivery.
* Experience in leading project teams within large change programmes.
* Ability to translate clients' tax objectives into effective SAP solutions.
* Strong interpersonal, team, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrated leadership in setting strategic direction and developing commercial propositions.

Qualifications

* Over 7 years of experience in Tax transformation and SAP.
* In-depth experience with VAT/GST/E-invoice configuration and related development in SAP.
* Strong project management skills within complex transformation/SAP programmes.
* Experience working with Systems Implementers and representing the Tax workstream.
* Proven ability to develop and lead client relationships.
* Deep understanding of cross-module (FI-SD, FI-MM) functionality and ongoing SAP solutions.

Desirable Skills

* Knowledge of tax technology solutions like tax engines, digital tax authority solutions, data analytics, and compliance tools.
* Experience with planning, consolidation, and financial reporting processes.
* Familiarity with SAP tools such as SAC, PaPM, DRC, Group Reporting, GTS.
* Previous experience with consulting firms.
