PERSONAL TAX SENIOR or MANAGER

We are delighted to be working with a reputable, award-winning company specialising in accounting, tax, and business advisory services. We are currently seeking an experienced Personal Tax professional to join their growing team. Located in Cheltenham, they offer a comprehensive suite of services to businesses and high-net-worth individuals, both domestically and internationally.

Organisation, confidence, a track record of meeting deadlines, and a diligent work ethic are essential qualities. Furthermore, solid experience in a professional practice setting is required, along with a thorough knowledge of current tax legislation and guidance.

The firm provides a quality compliance service, along with delivering on wide ranging tax advisory work, including but not limited to tax residency, investment reliefs (EIS, SEIS etc), tax disclosures and property ownership structuring. This role would suit an individual looking to further their technical ability and progress in their tax careers.

The position being offered involves a variety of responsibilities and tasks related to client work and the use of specific software packages, including Digita/Onvio and Xero. An outline summary of the role is below, but no day is the same:

Hands-On Preparation of Client Work: engaging with clients to actively work on their project. This could involve tasks such as data entry, financial analysis, tax return preparation, correspondence with HMRC and other professional advisors or other activities directly related to serving clients.


Reviewing Junior and Peer Files: you will have a supervisory or mentoring aspect to your role. You'll be responsible for reviewing the work of junior colleagues and potentially peers. This may involve ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work and providing feedback and guidance.


Developing Dynamic Working: The role involves finding innovative and efficient ways to complete tasks, optimise workflows, and adapt to changing client needs or industry trends.


Using Software Packages (Digita/Onvio and Xero): This is a key aspect of the role. You will be expected to use specific software packages, namely Digita/Onvio and Xero. These tools used for accounting, financial management, or client management. Your responsibilities will include data entry, data analysis, report generation, and other tasks within these software platforms.


The position requires a combination of technical skills, supervisory skills, and adaptability. You will be  working closely with clients and colleagues while utilising digital tools to efficiently manage and deliver services.

You may be any of ATT/ CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified and you will have developed a personal tax career within an accountancy practice, or specialist tax firm.  Your experience will have been developed within an accountancy firm of any size, or specialist tax firm delivering personal tax compliance and/or reviewing tax returns. You may also have existing planning and advisory experience in addition to the compliance background and be looking to build further on this side of your career as well.

The workload is evenly distributed between compliance services and advisory work, encompassing transactional and funding projects.
