Join our client's Innovation Reliefs Team, where they work with a diverse range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals. They assist their clients in preparing claims for Research & Development (R&D) tax relief and other innovation incentives across various sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technologies.

As a Software Specialist in the Innovation Reliefs Team, your responsibilities include:

* Engaging with IT specialists and industry leaders to support businesses at the forefront of technology.
* Explaining our services during client meetings and potential client interactions.
* Crafting technical descriptions of client projects for HMRC reports and offering suggestions for improvement.
* Preparing robust documentation following UK BEIS guidelines and CIRD manual to support R&D claims.
* Coordinating interviews with clients' technical and finance teams to advise on R&D tax relief.
* Contributing to claim methodology development and assisting in preparing R&D tax relief claims for HMRC submission.
* Collaborating with colleagues across different tax specialties to build a strong internal network.
* Identifying opportunities and supporting pitches for new and existing clients.
* Assisting in documentation preparation and handling HMRC inquiries into R&D Tax claims.
* Supporting R&D engagements, including cost monitoring, billing, risk management, deliverables, and client relationships.
* Ensuring tax quality by adhering to our firm's quality standards.
* Keeping the engagement team updated on project responsibilities and client relationship matters.
* Staying informed about the firm's specialist services and publications to identify opportunities to add value to clients and explore other service lines.

Qualifications:

Required:

* A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
* Eagerness to learn about preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims in the software/IT sector.
* Prior experience in the software/IT industry.

Preferred:

* Enthusiasm for developing tax technical knowledge of the UK's R&D tax incentives.
* Knowledge of various claim methodologies, especially industry-specific challenges across different sectors.
* Understanding of broader business and economic issues.
