Your key responsibilities
In this role as Excise Tax Specialist, you will shoulder responsibilities and oversee projects related to excise tax matters. Your key responsibilities will encompass acting as the main point of contact, both internally and externally, for excise tax inquiries across German locations. This will involve gathering and analysing data for customs tax warehouse notifications, addressing quantity balance discrepancies in collaboration with specialised departments, and managing customs permits, including written correspondence with central customs offices to clarify facts. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in supporting excise tax audits at multiple German sites and ensuring excise compliance throughout all company facilities in Germany, which may involve implementing internal training initiatives.
Requirements
We are seeking someone with a minimum of 4 years of professional tax experience, preferably with a background in logistics processes. An adept understanding of excise tax subjects is essential, along with a strong willingness to further develop in this area. Proficiency in using various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ERP systems such as SAP S/4 HANA, and familiarity with EMCS (Electronic Movement Control Systems) is expected.
Fluency in German and a competent level of written and spoken English (B2) are required.
