A leading professional services firm is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team as an R&D Tax Manager. This firm is known for their expertise in assisting clients with obtaining R&D incentives and their commitment to driving innovation.
About the Role:
The R&D Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the process of understanding R&D tax credits and managing the preparation of documentation to support their claims. This position requires a background in Science/Engineering and a solid understanding of UK R&D tax incentives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of R&D clients and overseeing project delivery.
* Leading workshops with clients to educate them on the R&D incentives regime and collaborating with their technical teams to quantify claims and prepare supporting documentation.
* Preparing and reviewing documentation for submission to the relevant authorities, including detailed descriptions of R&D activities and project summaries.
* Ensuring accurate reflection of R&D eligibility assessments in the quantification of the claim.
* Liaising with relevant authorities to address any queries they may have regarding R&D claims on behalf of clients.
* Providing advice on R&D tax incentives to clients and internal stakeholders.
* Supervising junior team members and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
* Identifying and developing new opportunities, including participation in pitching for work.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for the R&D Tax Manager role will possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Excellent working knowledge of tax incentives, particularly UK R&D tax incentive regimes (covering both SME and RDEC claims) across various industries.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively plan workload.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
* Coaching and delegation abilities to support and mentor team members.
* Proficiency in report writing, technical memo drafting, and providing concise advice notes.
* Analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data.
