An exciting opportunity has arisen within a rapidly growing R&D tax team, for a Manager or Senior Manager with experience in UK Incentive Schemes. This role is part the firm's Global Grants, Credits and Incentives team, based in Birmingham. The team is composed of specialist professionals from different backgrounds, including scientists, engineers, tax, and accounting professionals. The team supports a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to multinational corporations, by helping them claim government incentives that encourage investment in innovation.

The Manager or Senior Manager will lead R&D tax engagements with clients, working closely with lead engineers and the finance and tax departments of clients across different sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality claims and playing an active role in delivering R&D reports for submission to HMRC. Additionally, they will be involved in extensive client communication.

The role provides a clear path for career progression for the right candidate, offering a unique opportunity to advance their career within one of the firm's leading tax teams. The Manager or Senior Manager will work with a diverse team of highly successful tax and industry specialists, as well as being encouraged to support business development opportunities.

Key responsibilities of the role include managing the successful delivery of R&D tax services to the client, reviewing technical project reports to support R&D tax claims, building and maintaining relationships with clients, providing high levels of client service, identifying opportunities for new work, and managing client expectations.

To qualify for the role, candidates must have an engineering or science degree and excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach to management. You should also possess the flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Project management skills and work experience in their chosen industry as an engineer or scientist are desirable.
The successful candidate will be a team player with outgoing personality traits, good relationship skills, and the ability to deliver quality output. You should have strong technical skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels, identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review, and know when to refer upwards.
