Exciting opportunity to join a prestigious national accountancy firm in their corporate international tax team. The team advise UK businesses looking to start operations overseas and multinational companies globally on all aspects of their tax affairs.
The client work is varied and broad in nature. Examples of work that the team undertake include but are not limited to:
• UK corporation tax compliance for large multinationals
• Multi-jurisdictional tax compliance
• Tax advisory services for cross-border transactions and UK inbound/outbound investments
• International tax and UK tax due diligence
• Value chain
• Permanent establishments
• CFC rules
• Tax residence
• Corporate structuring
• Managing global risk
You will manage your own portfolio of clients, looking after the complete range of compliance and advisory work arising from those clients, with as much or little input from more senior members of the team, as required. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Directors and Partners on additional projects within the department.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be empowered to run your portfolio, to include timely and on budget delivery of work, managing more junior staff, WIP and billing. You will be actively involved in your client relationships and interaction with HMRC, as necessary.
This role is part of the department’s management team. As such you will review the work of more junior staff and act as a coach to help them improve both technically and professionally, both on the job and as part of their appraisal process.
Your experience should include having a good grasp of risk issues and when to flag a potential trouble spot to more senior members of staff. Equally, you should be able to identify potential untapped areas to offer additional services to clients. Sometimes you will be called upon to be part of the proposals team bidding for new work.
The team are looking for someone who is ACA and / or CTA qualified. The ideal person will be commercial and have both a passion for international tax as well as giving great client service. You should have demonstrable experience in international tax compliance. Any advisory experience would be welcome, but not essential as full training will be provided.
