The Winnipeg office has an immediate opportunity for a Manager to join our
Audit and Assurance Group (AAG).

managing teams of professionals to deliver quality service to our clients. In
addition, the manager will be expected to develop industry and technical
expertise in audit and assurance through written reports, management
presentations and the production of high quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
Planning the engagement, which include:
Analyzing research to ensure thorough understanding of each client's industry
and business;
Meeting with the client to identify expectations, issues and challenges;
Negotiating fees directly with the client under the direction of a partner;
Establishing the audit approach to the engagement, making effective use of team
members' skills and managing the assignment within time and budgetary
requirements.
Managing the engagement, this includes:
Reviewing work of the team to ensure that all work is completed and documented
in accordance with our prescribed standards;
Managing interpersonal relations and inspiring team members;
Demonstrating strong technical knowledge and having the ability to research
issues, present alternatives and conclusions;
Monitoring the progress of the team members towards completion of work and
adjusting the work plan when necessary;
Continuously communicating with the Partner with respect to engagement progress
– risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time and budget;
Preparing complete financial statements, related notes, and reports for
delivery to the client
Completing the engagement, which includes:
Taking full ownership of My Client and external file completion;
Analyzing engagement economics of self and field staff and explaining variances
from plan;
Approving final billing for review by the Partner;
Preparing and delivering meaningful individual performance evaluations on a
timely basis;
Developing strong relationships with your clients to facilitate the completion
of client work;
Identifying potential opportunities to provide additional services to your
clients.
Assisting with practice management, which includes:
Assuming a coaching performance management role that aligns staff development
with our Connected Thinking;
Instructing milestone training courses to our staff;
Networking in the local business community;
Preparation and delivery of competitive audit proposals; and
Recruiting.
Years Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years audit experience with Audit – Assurance experience in a
public accounting environment;
Education Required:
Degree plus CA designation or equivalent foreign designation;
Job Requirement Essential:
Detailed understanding of Canadian GAAP and GAAS;
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage relationships at all
levels within PwC and within the client's organization;
Superior communication (English oral and written) and interpersonal skills that
allow you to thrive in a team environment;
Demonstrated ability to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing
environment;
Proven leadership, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
Commitment to providing excellent client service; and
Ability to work on multiple engagements concurrently.
Job Requirement Desirable:
Specific industry experience in Mining would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP/ SEC and International Financial Reporting Standards
would be an asset.
Travel Required:
Regular, local, regional and international.
Typically our managers spend approximately 1 - 3 weeks per year traveling on
client work.
