I am working with a fintech challenger bank, who are looking for a tax manager to join the team. It is a mixed tax role, managing the direct and indirect tax compliance and internal advisory tax services for the bank.
The main responsibilities are:
Tax compliance:
* Produce regular returns including CT, VAT, PSA and seek ways to improve and automate the reporting
* Point of contact for HMRC and the bank's tax advisors
* Point of contact for the bank's external and internal auditors in relation to tax matters
* Ensure that the VAT PESM and transfer pricing methodology remains appropriate as the business rapidly scales
* Assume responsibility for the bank's R&D claims
* New product tax implication assessment
* Setting and communicating tax policies
* Year end reporting
Tax Advisory:
* Monitor and report on relevant changes to tax legislation and accounting principles and their impact on the business
* Provide pro-active advice to management on all aspects of applicable tax management and planning
* Provide advice in relation to product development and corporate development activities such as forward flow agreements, portfolio purchases and M&A
* Responsibility for the tax elements of the bank's financial forecasts
